Eddy Hartenstein will succeed 4-person council

The scandal-stained Tribune Co. announced Friday that it has named Eddy Hartenstein as its president and CEO, picking him from the four-person executive council that has been running the company since former CEO Randy Michaels resigned in October. In the latest chapter related to the company's ongoing woes, the council will dissolve and its members will return to focusing on their day jobs at Tribune Co.

Hartenstein will have his hands full, as he’ll continue to serve as publisher and CEO of the Los Angeles Times while steering its parent company, which has been mired
