Android Superphone Specs Stabilizing: Lull Until Android OS 3.0?

It seemed like a new super-duper Android phone was announced every other week for the past couple of months. The stream of new Android phones isn’t slowing down. However, it seems like we’ve peaked in terms of feature sets. Android phones announced over the past few weeks have stablized at what was consider a “super” phone earlier in the summer. Exclusive: Dell Thunder prototype rumbles into the wild (video)

Dell Thunder specification
– 8 megapixel camera with LED flash
– 720p HD video recording
– Android OS 2.1 (where’s 2.2?)
– 4.1 inch display with an 800×480 pixel resolution

These are very nice specs to be sure. But, they do not set it apart from phones like the Droid X and HTC EVO already in the sales channel.

I think we’ll see another round of hardware specification increases when the Android OS 3.0 phones emerge from hiding.
