WhatsApp also increased the maximum file size that can be sent via the app—with end-to-end encryption—to 2 gigabytes., from 100 megabytes, saying in a blog post, “We recommend using WiFi for larger files, and we’ll display a counter while uploading or downloading to let you know how long your transfer will take.”
