Pinterest established its first-ever engineering hub in central Europe, opening an office in Poland’s capital city of Warsaw.

The company said in a blog post that the impetus for setting up shop in Warsaw began with its acquisition of Vochi last December, as the video creation and editing application already had an office in the city.

The Vochi team will continue to run its app, as well as helping to build tools for creators on Pinterest, and the latter plans to double engineering roles in Warsaw, with a focus on product development in computer vision and video for both Pinterest and Vochi.

Pinterest said in its blog post that it is particularly interested in specialized talent based in central and Eastern Europe and focused on augmented reality, computer vision and mobile video creation and consumption.
