Pew Research Center analyzed more than 3.4 million tweets by over 7,500 candidates for federal, state and local office since the year began and shared its findings in the run-up to the midterms elections next week.

Computational social scientists Samuel Bestvater and Sono Shah wrote in a blog post, “As Election Day draws closer, candidates for office at the federal, state and local level are competing for the support of the voting public both online and off.”
