A new study by Pew Research Center found that mentions of Asian Americans on social media by members of Congress rose dramatically in 2020, with that trend continuing into the early stages of this year.

Pew analyzed every Facebook post and tweet created by every voting member of Congress between Jan. 1, 2016, and April 5, 2021, and the think tank found that from 2016 through 2019, members of Congress collectively mentioned Asian Americans fewer than 2,000 times per year.
