Meta introduced access levels for gaming developers, a new way for them to control the level of data access with regard to features and permissions within their applications.

The new access levels apply to Canvas apps, cloud games, gaming services and Instant Games.

Staff software engineer Solomon Sia said in a blog post that gaming developers will be able to choose between Advanced, Standard or None for each feature and permission in their app, explaining, “Permissions and features that were previously live or autogranted (gaming_profile, gaming_user_picture, email) will automatically enjoy Advanced access level.
