LinkedIn introduced several updates to both pages and profiles Wednesday as it continues to adapt to the changes in how people work, brought about by the pandemic but poised to become part of the new normal—a phenomenon the professional network refers to as the Great Reshuffle.

LinkedIn Marketing Solutions wrote in a blog post Wednesday, “In July alone, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the number of jobs available in the country climbed to 10.9 million, setting a new record high, and in August, a record-breaking 4.3 million Americans quit their jobs. It’s the most competitive hiring market on record, and candidates want to understand more about the companies they are considering. We’re excited to introduce a few new LinkedIn pages features that are designed to help your brand share more about your organization and culture to more quickly attract top talent, while retaining your current employees.”

The professional network is updating its employee-only space, the My Company tab, enabling page administrators to easily curate content and share it, and automatically notifying employees when new content is available, in turn taking them directly to the resharing experience so that the message being conveyed is amplified.

Employees will also see a dynamic visualization of content being shared by other employees at the company or organization, in an effort to show them that resharing matters.

The updates to the My Company tab will roll out in the coming weeks.

LinkedIn also added a feature that enables companies and organizations to indicate whether they are working remotely, hybrid or on-site in their page header and gives them an additional space to clarify their policies on vaccines, pay adjustments and other details.

The professional network cited recent data from Glint’s Employee Well-Being Report, which found that employees who are satisfied with their organization’s flexibility on work schedules or location are 3.4 times more likely to balance work and personal obligations, 2.6 times more likely to be happy working for their employer and 2.1 times more likely to recommend working for their employer.

Customizable competitor analytics were added to the LinkedIn Page Analytics tab, enabling companies and organizations to track and compare their follower growth and organic content performance with those of their competitors.

LinkedIn said more metrics will be added soon, such as engagement rate, to enable companies and organizations to adapt their content strategy in a meaningful way.

On the member side, LinkedIn introduced its new job tools in a blog post Wednesday, writing, “The past year-and-a-half has led many of you to rethink how and why you work. Since the start of the pandemic, more than one-half (59%) of people in the U.S. have experienced a career awakening—some looking for an entirely new role (33%), others pursuing a side hustle or passion project (34%) and many taking steps to learn something new in their existing role/company (30%)—according to our recent survey. Not surprisingly, we’ve seen a record pace of people transitioning careers globally—up more than 50% over the past three months on LinkedIn—and it doesn’t look to be slowing down anytime soon. Navigating this massive transition is a challenge, so we’ve launched new job tools to help job seekers, hiring managers and everyone in between.”

LinkedIn is adding filters to its job search and the Open to Work feature on members’ profiles enabling people to specify whether they are seeking remote, hybrid or on-site roles.

The platform said 65% of global searches using the new filters thus far are for remote-only jobs, adding that global data from Glint found that 87% of workers would prefer to remain remote at least one-half of the time.

The filters will also be available in the professional network’s Job Alerts feature, which alerts members via email or notifications when newly posted job openings match their skill set, career goals or dream company they want to work for.

For freelancers, contractors, creators and small business owners, LinkedIn’s new Service Marketplace enables the creation of Service Pages where they can set up and manage projects, as well as promote the specific skills and services of a business. The company said more than 774 million people can find these Service Pages when searching for help in specific areas such as design and marketing.
