Instagram to Make Reels Recycled From Other Apps Like TikTok ‘Less Discoverable’

The platform called out blurry, low-quality videos and those containing logos or watermarks

Creators who have been sharing videos from other platforms, like TikTok, on Instagram Reels are in for a rude awakening.

Instagram said in a post on its @creators account Tuesday that it will limit the distribution of Reels containing content “that is visibly recycled from other applications,” offering as an example videos containing logos or watermarks.

Spokesperson Devi Narasimhan said in a statement, “We heard in research that people have a less satisfying experience when they see content that is recycled from other apps or is blurry and low-resolution.
