Instagram said Monday that it is rolling out a consistent viewing experience for videos on its platform, regardless of how they were created.

Videos watched on Instagram will all have access to features such as a full-screen viewer and the option to tap them to mute the audio, and Instagram added that it is also developing one consistent way for people to share their videos, bringing all of its creation tools to one destination.

These moves follow last October’s combination of standard feed videos and IGTV long-form fare into a single format, Instagram Video, and the platform said more moves to simplify its video formats are on tap in the coming months.

Instagram will begin testing a new ad experience later this year that will enable creators to earn revenue from ads displayed on their Reels.
