Startup Color Founder Plots Data Atom Bomb

Heavily funded app developer tries to recover from early glitches

Startup Color Labs has techies up in arms. They’re jealous of the money it’s raised, anxious to see improvements to its still-in-development app (early reviews complained about repeated crashes), and mostly, they’re just confused about what the company plans to be.

Venture capitalists, on the other hand, are nothing but excited. Investors at Sequoia Capital recently compared Startup Color’s transformative technology to Google. Sequoia and Bain Capital have stuffed the one-year-old company’s pockets with $41 million in venture backing without it even having a fully baked product.

Startup Color founder Bill Nguyen explained, or at least tried to explain, the Startup Color revolution onstage at Federated Media’s Conversational Marketing Summit today.
