Internationally based Quepasa Corporation, with offices around the world, announced their trilingual, Latino social network now has over 14MM registered users. Over the past month, registered users grew by 1.1MM members as a result of 9.6MM unique visits during May, an increase of 55% over the past month. Quepasa.com has been augmenting their site recently, enhancing it with new features and functionality that seems to be faring well with the user base. Just a few weeks ago Quepasa announced a partnership with Zoosk to add social online dating elements. Quepasa is a well known destination for Latino users to flirt and play with each other.
“During the month of May, we introduced a number of features aimed at improving the user experience on Quepasa.com, such as a redesigned navigation panel, a more dynamic Playboy Mexico community and contest page and a new streaming video channel, all of which contributed to higher traffic figures, ” said John C. Abbott, CEO of Quepasa Corporation. “Over the next several months, we will continue to emphasize improved site functionality, new social games and some very exciting sponsored contests.”
With the addition of rich multimedia content, social tools and abundance of games and contests, the growing latin community has a wide variety of activities to engage in. Despite the increasing popularity of Facebook in Latin America, specialized social networks that are more in tune with local cultures and can also offer quality games should see strong growth.
