Are people using fewer abbreviations since Twitter extended the character limit for tweets to 280 last November?

Twitter Data said in a tweet that it has “seen an increase in people writing out full words and phrases.”

More space has brought about more politeness, as well, as Twitter Data added that people are saying please and thank you more often, up 54 percent and 22 percent, respectively.

Finally, the social network said there have been more replies to tweets and questions since doubling its character limit.
