Twitter and the Canadian Football League Are Huddling Up to Livestream #CFLTHISWEEK

#CFLTHISWEEK will be livestreamed globally on @CFL Wednesdays at 3 p.m. ET

Twitter is ready for some football, north of the border and of the 110-yard variety.

The Canadian Football League reached a livestreaming deal with Twitter Canada covering 30-minute weekly live show #CFLTHISWEEK, which will be livestreamed globally on @CFL Wednesdays at 3 p.m. ET, starting this Wednesday (June 28).

#CFLTHISWEEK will be hosted by CFL host Brodie Lawson and three-time Grey Cup champion Davis Sanchez, with guest appearances by the league’s manager of social media and content, Max Rosenberg.

The show will be livestreamed from Twitter Canada’s Toronto headquarters and feature league news, player interviews, special guests, fun social stories, fantasy picks and discussion. Sanchez is the CFL’s “resident fantasy expert” and host of the league’s official podcast, The Waggle.

Twitter Canada head of sports partnerships Christopher Doyle said in a release announcing the deal:

The CFL has long been one of Twitter Canada’s top sports partners, and we’re thrilled to be teaming up with the league on #CFLTHISWEEK. Livestreaming video content has become a big part of the Twitter experience for Canadian sports fans, and we’re excited to have the CFL join our growing roster of global livestream partners.

CFL senior vice president of marketing and content Christina Litz added:

#CFLTHISWEEK is a show built for fans. It will include all of the great football content they’ve come to expect from the CFL, along with new fun segments and interviews made for sharing—all on our fans’ favorite social platform, Twitter.
