Time On Their Side?

kennystengel.jpgTime Magazine’s decision to move up its delivery date to Fridays from Mondays is having mixed results. Time maintained its lead over Newsweek, according to Audit Bureau of Circulations figures released today, but declined in circulation in the first half of 2006.

From ForbesLouis Hau:

Time‘s total paid and verified weekly circulation during the six months ended June 30 stood at 3.4 million, down 17.1 percent from 4.1 million during the same period last year following a reduction in January in the magazine’s rate base. Newsweek‘s circulation stood at 3.1 million, virtually unchanged from a year earlier.”

In addition to the change in the publication schedule, managing editor Rick Stengel‘s reformulation of the nation’s largest newsweekly involved a redesign, as well as an emphasis on Time.com.
