The Sims Social and Zynga Slingo are this week's gainer and loser among July's Top 25 Facebook games

Now that we've looked at the bottom of the July Top 25 Facebook games list, it's time to start looking higher up the list. We're still on the lower half of the chart, which means we're likely to see a great deal of movement when it comes to games' traffic. The differences between titles' numbers of daily active users is often fairly minuscule, so relatively small changes may cause a fair amount of movement on the list. Here's what we've looked at so far: July 12, 2012: No. 25 (Pyramid Solitaire Saga) through No. 20 (SongPop) This week, we'll look at No. 19 through No. 13. 19. Angry Birds Friends Rovio's Angry Birds Friends is back at 1.9 million DAU after dropping as far down as 1.7 million. The Angry Birds franchise hasn't dominated the Facebook market as thoroughly as it has on mobile devices, and it doesn't look like this will change any time soon. The game peaked in April with 3.4 million DAU, but it's been steadily dropping since then. The game's numbers do look like they're starting to level out a bit, but unless Angry Birds Friends is able to start gaining users again, it may very well drop into the 20s on next month's chart. T16. Pool Live Toor Geewa's Pool Live Tour seems to be holding steady at 2 million DAU, down a little from its June peak of 2.1 million. The game's been gradually gaining traffic ever since it launched in 2009, but its numbers began to noticeably increase about a year ago. It's too early to tell if the game's merely in a lull or if this traffic plateau marks the beginning of an ongoing decrease, but the generally steady numbers will most likely keep the game in the same spot on August's Top 25 chart. T16. Slotomania Playtika's Slotomania is another title that's holding steady at the 2 million DAU mark, having also peaked in June with 2.1 million. The game launched in December 2010 and has been enjoying slow, steady growth ever since. That said, this isn't the first time its numbers have stalled. From October through November 2011, traffic didn't increase; this lull may be a similar experience. If the game holds around this traffic mark, it probably won't move much (if at all) on next month's chart, but history shows we may be about to see the numbers resume their gradual increase in the next few weeks. T16. Monster World Wooga's Monster World is up a little from the start of the month, going from 1.9 million DAU to 2 million. The game peaked in February with 2.3 million DAU, a position it held through May before it began to lose traffic. It looks like the pattern is continuing, since traffic dropped as low as 1.8 million DAU last week before rebounding. Looking at the gradual ongoing decline, Monster World may drop a couple of spots next Month, but will probably still be firmly in the middle of August's Top 25 games list. 15. المزرعة السعيدة FunPlus Game's Arabic-language farm sim المزرعة السعيدة ("Happy Farm") is continuing to lose traffic, down from 2.4 million DAU to 2.3 million. The game reached a high point of 2.9 million DAU in March, but it began to drop off shortly afterwards. Although traffic drop-off hasn't been dramatic, it's been steady. Looking at the drop-off rate, it's possible Happy Farm may fall to 2.1 or 2.2 million DAU before the end of the month, though that may only move the game down by one or two spots when we report on August's Top 25 chart. 14. Zynga Slingo After dropping from 2.5 million DAU down to 2.3 million, Zynga Slingo is right back where it started. The game launched in February but quickly surged to the 4 million mark, a position it managed to hover around through May (when it peaked with 4.3 million DAU). Since then, though, the traffic's been noticeably dropping — at the start of June, the game still had 3.5 million DAU. Based on these dramatic traffic losses, it looks like Zynga Slingo could possibly fall as low 1.5 million in time for August. However, the past few weeks show the game's traffic stabilizing a bit, so it may not drop more than a spot or two in August. 13. The Sims Social EA's The Sims Social is up from 2.7 million DAU to 3.2 million. The company's been successfully leveraging its year-old title to bring in traffic recently, thanks to time-specific quests that require users to help each other in order to achieve milestones. The game's also likely benefitted from its sibling "Sim" title, SimCity Social, which launched at the end of June and has been quickly climbing the charts. Although The Sims Social probably won't ever return to its September 2011 peak of 11.3 million DAU, these traffic gains could give it a shot of getting back into the top ten games on next month's list.
