The iPad 2 announcement from earlier this week has got tablet competitors on their toes. Since Apple showed off its flashy new update, Samsung Electronics is rethinking its strategy for the Galaxy tablet 10.1, which is slated for release this year.
The Yohap News Agency reports: “Lee Don-joo, executive vice president of Samsung’s mobile division, said that Apple has presented new challenges for the South Korean company with a thinner mobile gadget that is priced the same as its predecessor. ‘We will have to improve the parts that are inadequate,’ Lee told Yonhap News Agency. ‘Apple made it very thin.’”
RIM also came out this week and said that their PlayBook tablet would be available by the end of the quarter.
With CES launches making this seem like the year of the tablet, Apple is still showing that they are at the front of the curve.
