Russell Simmons, Global Grind Acquire CelebrityTweet
A celebrity is acquiring CelebrityTweet: The site—which, as its name suggests, aggregates tweets from celebrities—is being scooped up by hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons and his hip-hop media platform, Global Grind, according to TechCrunch.
TechCrunch reported that Global Grind will use CelebrityTweet to build its own platform and database for users to access celebrities’ tweets, enabling celebrities to connect and engage with their fans.
UPDATE: Global Grind elaborated that it will launch its CelebrityTweet initiative as an extension to its own celebrity blog initiative, in partnership with 0 Calorie SoBe Lifewater, which will be fully integrated into both Websites.
CelebrityTweet will continue to operate as a stand-alone site with a simultaneous feed to Global Grind’s homepage and select channel pages, as well as affiliated sites.
