PMK•BNC announced an expansion of its London office, and Kevin Gessay, longtime agency executive, has been named managing director. This move expands Kevin’s role to include oversight of all London office activities, as well as leading the agency’s efforts with global brand clients. McGraw-Hill Education announced that Catherine J. Mathis has joined the company as chief communications officer. In her new role, she will be responsible for conception, design and implementation of corporate communication strategies targeted to critical business, media and education policy-related audiences. Prior to McGraw-Hill Education, Mathis was the senior vice president of marketing and communications for Standard & Poor's Ratings Services. (Release) Chipotle hired Jackson Jeyanayagam, former SVP of digital strategy with New York firm Taylor, to fill the newly created role of digital marketing director. In the new position, he will lead "all digital marketing efforts including mobile, social media, community engagement, web, email and analytics" for the popular chain. (PR Week) Edelman made new hires in its New York office. Adam Hirsch, the former Mashable COO who left his EVP, Emerging Media and Technology position at the firm last year, has returned to assume the global EVP role at Edelman Digital. Anita Kawatra, who previously served as head of external affairs at Prothena Biosciences, joined the firm as an EVP in its New York-based health practice. (PR Week/O'Dwyer's) Sopexa Group announced that Benjamin Bourinat has taken on the role of director of Public Relations, Sopexa USA. In his new position, Benjamin will be responsible for leading the development of client public relations and social media campaigns, as well as strategic partnerships and integrations. Benjamin joins Sopexa from Omnicom, where he most recently served as manager of corporate communications. He has also held strategic communications positions at Interpublic Group, Havas, as well as various government-owned and political organizations. (Release)
