Qik Desktop for Premium Accounts Eases Organizing Smartphone Videos

Qik lets you stream video directly from your smartphone to your Qik web account which provide instant video sharing and off-device archiving. Qik has apps for iOS (iPhone and iPad 2) and Android smartphones. Many of Qik’s services are free. However, they also have a $4.99 per month Premium account that provides unlimited video mail, unlimited video storage, video downloads and priority support. A new feature for Qik Premium customeres is the Qik Desktop which makes managing and sharing videos easier.

Introducing Qik Desktop: the simplest way to manage and share your mobile videos

Qik Desktop lets you manage all those video clips recorded from your smartphone and:

– Share video messages with contacts on Gmail, Facebook and Yahoo Mail
– Post videos to Facebook, Twitter and YouTube by dragging and dropping
– Synchronize video between one or more phones and a desktop computer
– Organize videos stored on Qik.com into collections using drag and drop

You can create a Qik account using Facebook Connect or Twitter authentication. You can also create an account the old fashioned way by creating a new username with a unique password.

Oddly, I do not see any direct way to actually sign-up directly for a Premium account or to upgrade an existing one.
