Pinterest used the first day of VidCon 2019 in Anaheim, Calif., to reveal four video-related updates for creators and brands on its platform.
The uploading tool was revamped to enable creators and brands to seamlessly upload video content directly to Pinterest.
Pinterest business profiles now include a new videos tab, enabling them to feature all of their video content in one place.
New video analytics were added, giving businesses access to data on lifetime views and insights into their performance of their videos over time. Pinterest pointed out that videos on its platform continually surface and resurface, and don’t disappear in feeds, as they do on other social platforms.
Finally, creators and brands can use Pinterest’s Pin Scheduler to queue up video fare in advance.
Pinterest said in an email that it has seen a 31% increase in searches for inspirational videos over the past year, and Pinners are 54% more likely to say they were inspired to action by videos on Pinterest versus those on other social media platforms.
