Have you ever bought a Lexmark ink cartridge or even a digital camera only to have your joy ruined (or at least delayed) by that seemingly implenetrable plastic packaging? There was a story in yesterday’s Chicago Tribune about how leading retailers and consumer product manufacturers are beginning to make packaging that’s more environmentally-friendly and a HECK of a lot easier to open. The new stuff will be a combination of cardboard and plastic. So you won’t need a kitchen knife and a can opener to open these hybrids. Or at least we hope and pray. Check out your nearby Costco in the next few weeks for the new cardboard-plastic molded cases. Let us know if you need cutting instruments to open these new-fangled things, ok?
