"Nightline" Asks Lizzie Grubman What It Means To Be A Socialite

Her response: “I think it’s someone who has a famous parent, who is fashionable, who knows how to dress, who the designers like to dress, and comes from money.” Grubman was on “Nightline” to talk about the trials and tribulations of being a socialite, specifically referring to the recent death of Johnson & Johnson heiress Casey Johnson. Johnson had once interned at Grubman’s firm, Grubman PR.

“Everyone likes their five minutes of fame, believe me, I wouldn’t be in business without it,” Grubman said, in reference to the current crop of socialite celebrity seekers and her own “five minutes,” which of course was drunkenly driving her SUV into a crowd outside of a Hampton’s club in 2001.
