Nickelodeon Pushing 3 WAP Sites

Nickelodeon.jpgThe Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group is making big strides in the mobile market this week with three new WAP sites featuring content from its Nickelodeon, The N and ParentsConnect brands.

Although Nickelodeon does have content for younger kids, the mobile sites will focus more on the 13-and-up crowd because they have most of the cell phones, mocoNews reports.

The Nick-branded site has been in beta for several months. The commercial version boasts more than two-dozen games plus a whole lot of other content for kids, with even more being added over the coming weeks.

The Nick mobile Web site, wap.nick.com, features easy-to-access, kid-oriented content including pictures, flipbooks, polls, show and schedule information and a diverse selection of games.

Over the coming months, Nickelodeon, in a partnership with MangoMOBILE, will be developing additional games for the site.

The site also features voting capabilities for Nickelodeon’s 2008 Kids’ Choice Awards, taking place on March 29. In Q2, Nick will launch additional mini-sites for network TV events.

The N mobile Web site, which launches early in Q2 on wap.the-n.com, builds on the content and community of the teen-oriented The-N.com. Features include a mobile version of Rank and other popular games from The-N.com; the daily N’Sider blog with movie and music news, reviews and more; personality quizzes (building off of The N’s Quizilla.com); flipbooks, other content related to shows on The N and The N’s on-air schedule.

The ParentsConnect mobile site
, launching in the third quarter, will have parent-oriented content that builds off the ParentsConnect.com Web site. It will offer parents and caregivers access to all things parenting-related, including daily tips, activities, product recommendations and expert parenting information. It will also include ParentsConnect’s local service, GoCityKids.com, which gives parents access to comprehensive information on local activities, restaurants, playgrounds and more across the US.
