New Year's Day Brings Tweets-per-Second Record

Just four seconds into 2011 in Japan, Twitter set a new record with 6,939 Tweets per second, more than doubling its previous mark, which also involved Japan, as 3,283 Tweets per second went out after its national soccer team defeated Denmark during FIFA World Cup South Africa 2010.
