NBCOlympics.com Heats Up After Lighting of Torch

NBCOlympics.com on MSN caught fire once the 2010 Winter Olympic Games from Vancouver, British Columbia, lit the torch last Friday night, totaling more than 177.4 million page views during the first weekend of action, versus 34.5 million for Yahoo! Sports Winter Olympics, which had topped the competition during the week of Feb. 8-14, according to comScore.

NBCOlympics.com said visitors averaged 8.2 minutes per visit, 64 more than the 5 minutes registered by Yahoo! Sports visitors, and 27.5 pages per visit compared with 3.8.

When compared with the 2006 Winter Olympics from Turin, Italy, NBCOlympics.com’s 177.4 million page views were up 244 percent, and its 13.7 million video streams — which served nearly 800,000 hours of video — were up 372 percent.
