Nanigans said in its report that the growth in CTRs indicates that advertisers are effectively reaching and engaging with the most relevant audiences on the social network.

Other findings by the advertising automation software company included:

  • Spending on Facebook video ads grew 2.8 times quarter-over-quarter.
  • Spending on multi-product ads shot up by 5.2 times during the same time period.
  • Global costs per click fell 17 percent in the first quarter of 2015 compared with the fourth quarter of 2014, and cost per thousand impressions (CPMs) slipped 3 percent, due to the holiday shopping season inflating numbers for the previous period.
