Prior to Politico, Ververs was senior political editor at CBSNews.com, and he also served as editor of National Journal‘s daily political Web briefing, The Hotline.

msnbc.com editor in chief Jennifer Sizemore said:

Vaughn is a first-rate political journalist with a track record of producing innovative coverage. This pivotal time in politics makes it even more urgent that we produce leading coverage of the issues, debates, and elections. We are certain we’ve found the right person for the job.
