It's too soon to tell how the merger of Break Media and Alloy Digital is going to play out. But one of the first video outputs of the new company, Defy Media, clearly resonated with the YouTube world last week. The latest episode of the long-running Break video show Screen Junkies featured Last Vegas star Morgan Freeman reading the lyrics to Ylvis' 'What the Fox Says.' Later in the clip, Robert De Niro grudgingly reads the lyrics to Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball." It's beautiful.
The Screen Junkies video attracted enough attention (2.39 million views) to land it in the No. 3 spot on the VideoWatch/VidIQ ranking of YouTube content for last week. But it didn't even come close to the latest from Epic Battles in Rap History, which took the top spot for the second time in two weeks with 5.1 million views in a week). Check it out.
