MikMak Video Shopping Network Launches on iOS

Aimed at Millennials, MikMak allows users to watch short product videos before making a purchase.

TIPO Entertainment has announced the official release of MikMak, its mobile video shopping network on iOS devices. Created and founded by Rachel Tipograph, former global director of digital and social media at Gap, the app combines humor with a shopping experience and items aimed at Millennials.

MikMak offers a variety of unisex products, from tech gadgets and jewelry to home goods and accessories, all priced at $100 or less. These items are presented through short informercials known as “minimercials,” typically 30 seconds in length, with new videos added each night at 9 p.m. Eastern.

Shoppers can browse product videos based on item category, or by featured lists and/or featured brands, including Areaware, Yellow Owl Workshop, Jack + Mulligan and many others. Since each video is presented by a real person (including many New York comics), users can also browse products based on video host.

Each product is presented alongside additional text information, its price and quantity remaining, and users can add multiple products to their cart for purchase within the app at once. As users watch videos for products, they can save specific items to their favorites list, or share products via direct link, Facebook or Twitter.

When sharing a link with others, the recipient can view the same product video, and will receive a link to download the app if they’d like to make a purchase.

MikMak is available to download for free on the iTunes App Store.
