LinkedIn: How to Add Text to Stories

Add extra content to posts

LinkedIn began testing Stories internally in February LinkedIn

LinkedIn officially rolled out its LinkedIn Stories feature last month. Similar to Instagram or Facebook Stories, LinkedIn Stories allows users to share photos or short videos that appear at the top of users’ feeds.

Our guide will show you how to add text to a LinkedIn Stories post.

Note: These screenshots were captured in the LinkedIn application on iOS. Also note, you can add text to a LinkedIn Stories post before or after capturing a photo or video, but for our guide, we’re adding text after a photo has been taken.

Step 1: Once you’ve taken or imported a photo or video in Stories, tap the text icon in the top-right corner of the screen.

Step 2: Type the text you want to add to your post. Note: You can customize the look of your text in a number of ways. From left to right across the top of the screen, there are buttons for deleting the text, changing the text’s size and alignment and for removing (or adding) a 3D effect behind the text. You can also change the color of the text by tapping the colorful circles above your device’s keyboard.

Step 3: When you’re done typing and customizing your text, tap “Done” in the top-right corner of the screen.

From there, you can rotate, resize and drag the text around the screen to best fit your post before sharing it.
