LinkedIn: Here’s How to Change Your Active Status

Users can stop others from knowing when they're on the professional network

LinkedIn’s Active Status feature allows users to see when their connections are actively on LinkedIn or available to contact on mobile. If you don’t want your own active status to be displayed, our guide will show you how to change your active status from within the LinkedIn mobile application.

Note: These screenshots were captured in the LinkedIn app on iOS. Also note, if your hide your active status, you won’t be able to view your contacts’ statuses.

Step 1: Tap your profile picture in the top-left corner of the screen.

Step 2: Tap the gear icon in the top-right corner of the screen.

Step 3: Tap “Privacy.”

Step 4: Tap “Manage active status.”

Step 5: Tap one of the three options to choose who can see your active status. Tapping “Your Connections only” will only allow your direct connections to see your active status, while tapping “All LinkedIn members” will allow everyone on the platform to see your active status. Finally, tapping “No one” will prevent all users from being able to see your active status.
