Kontagent and Tapjoy announce partnership, hint at integrated product suite

Kontagent and Tapjoy announced today the two companies have entered into a strategic partnership to jointly offer new products and services for mobile app developers.

According to today’s announcement, the partnership will give Tapjoy’s customers “the insights they need” to improve their user acquisition campaigns and monetization — a strong hint the two companies plan to roll out a line of integrated products in the coming weeks. Kontagent meanwhile describes the new relationship as a strategic one, as it looks to solidify its position in the mobile analytics space.

Originally a Facebook analytics provider, Kontagent moved aggressively into the mobile market last year after closing a $12 million round of Series B funding. The company currently provides analytics for more than 1,000 applications and tracks more than 150 million monthly active users. Meanwhile rival mobile analytics company and market leader Flurry serves more than 70,000 companies and 150,000 apps. The partnership will give Kontagent access to Tapjoy’s sizable advertising, publishing and monetization network, which currently spans more than 10,000 apps.

Kontagent is backed by $17.75 million in funding from Altos Ventures, Maverick Capital and Battery Ventures. Tapjoy has so far raised $70.5 million in funding from J.P Morgan, North Bridge Venture Partners, InterWest Partners and others.
