King Launched an Immersive Facebook Camera Effect Based on Candy Crush Saga

The experience challenges players to catch treats in their mouths.

Candy Crush Saga King

Mobile and social game developer King partnered with Facebook to launch an interactive augmented reality Facebook camera effect based on popular match-three game Candy Crush Saga.

Accessible via Facebook’s in-application Camera, the immersive camera effect offers multiple rounds of increasingly difficult timed gameplay, with each challenging users to catch candies of the same color in their mouths as they are thrown from the bottom of the screen. The user’s face will expand each time they catch a piece of candy, and when they catch enough matching candies, their face will transform into a piece of candy from the game.

Users will earn points as they play, and they’re encouraged to share videos of their gameplay with the hashtag #thatsweetfeeling.

This isn’t the first AR camera effect King has released. For Halloween, the developer released a series of Snapchat lenses and filters based on Bubble Witch 3 Saga.
