Kindle Store Breaks Records On Christmas

Amazon announced today that the Kindle 3 is the bestselling product in Amazon’s history. As usual, they did not release any numbers, but they did say that sales beat Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Book 7).

Christmas Day was the busiest day in Amazon’s eBook history. According to an Amazon press release, more people registered new Kindles for the first time, downloaded Kindle apps and bought Kindle books on Christmas 2010, than on any other day in history. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo was the most purchased Kindle book on Christmas Day and it was also the most gifted Kindle book of the season.

The company also announced that on its busiest day this holiday season, which was Nov. 29th, customers ordered more than 13.7 million items worldwide across all product categories.
