How Kids Use Social Media [INFOGRAPHIC]

Are you from the generation that balks at the thought of a 15 year old kid with a smartphone? Well, prepare for a shock: nearly half of girls between the ages of 6 and 12 have their own phone!

And if cellphones in the hands of tweens surprise you, their social media habits definitely will.

These stats and infographic about the social media habits of tweens come to us from FashionPlatyes.

According to the infographic below, a full 81 percent of kids between the ages of 12 and 17 use social media (compared to 72 percent of the internet population as a whole).

And what are these kids doing on social media? The most popular network is YouTube, with 45 percent of those surveyed using it. Following that is Facebook at 15 percent, Instagram at 10 percent, and Twitter sitting in dead last at two percent.
