The world of popular ventriloquist and comedian Jeff Dunham has come to life in Achmed’s Bombsweeper, a free mobile game starring Dunham’s creations. As the name might suggest, the game is a take on the classic game Minesweeper, mixed with plenty of fan service for the comedian’s followers.

Achmed’s Bombsweeper sees players working to stop Achmed the Dead Terrorist from building a giant robot of destruction. Achmed has captured Dunham’s other characters, and filled the land surrounding their holding cells with bombs. It’s up to players to use the classic Minesweeper play of number observation to free them and stop Achmed before it’s too late.

The classic gameplay has been updated slightly with the inclusion of power-ups like bomb sniffing goats, which can automatically mark all bombs in a 3×3 square. Players have three difficulty levels to choose from, which alters how many bombs are in play, but doesn’t change the size of the game board.

Players are rewarded points for each square successfully cleared, and their progress is timed and later tracked on the in-game leaderboards. The rest of the app offers information for Dunham’s fans, including access to upcoming tour dates and news alerts about Dunham’s television appearance and more.

“As I travel the country performing and meeting my fans, the Dunham Maniacs, their passion and ability to join me laughing at the world around us – is the beauty of Achmed’s Bombsweeper game,” Jeff Dunham said in a statement. “I hope that in the weeks and months to come, everyone enjoys playing Achmed’s Bombsweeper as much as we enjoy sharing it with you.”

While targeted specifically at Dunham’s existing fan base, Achmed’s Bombsweeper is now available to download for free for everyone on iOS and Android. Check back soon to follow the game on AppData, our tracking service for mobile and social apps and developers.
