iPad to Be Released April 3; Pre-Order March 12

Apple announced today that the Wifi iPad will be released on Saturday, April 3, and pre-ordering begins Friday, March 12, one week from today. You can either have it shipped to your home or reserve one for pickup at an Apple store. So, Apple lied--it's not coming out in late March, but just after. Finally, some iPad news we can use! It would seem that Apple is confident enough that they'll have iPads in stock for everyone, but let's hope the company isn't bluffing and that we won't have a Nook situation here. Apple says the 3G model will be available in "late April," but you can pre-order one next Friday, too. Let's also hope April 3 is a nice day, cause lots of folks are likely to spend a lot of that day in front of the local Apple store.
