Instagram recently added a Create mode to Instagram Stories, which allows you to share posts that don’t contain photos or videos. The Create mode has lots of different post options to choose from, such as “Templates” and “Poll,” which allow you to create different kinds of posts to share on your profile. Our guide will show you how the use the Templates mode.
Note: These screenshots were captured in the Instagram application on iOS.
Step 1: On the Instagram Stories camera screen, swipe left or right at the bottom of the screen to move into the “Create” mode. You want the word “Create” to be directly below the capture button.
Step 2: Swipe left on the circles near the capture button to switch to the “Templates” option. It’s the one with squares of different sizes.
Step 3: A post template will automatically appear on the screen. Tap the dice at the top of the screen to view the different templates that are available (you can also tap the screen to cycle through the available templates).
Note: If you want to change the background color for your post, tap the colorful circle in the bottom-right corner of the screen. You can tap it multiple times to view all of the available background options.
Step 4: When you’ve found the template you wish to use, tap the capture button to select it.
From there, you can add stickers, text, drawings and more to your post, just as you would a normal Instagram Stories post, before sharing it on your profile.
