IGN to Stream Jace Hall Show

Gamer-haven IGN has snagged the exclusive rights to stream the upcoming third season of the Jace Hall Show, an off-the-wall Web talk show, which debuted on Sony’s Crackle.com in 2008.

Hall is a Hollywood producer who has shepherded TV projects such as the current ABC remake of V, as well as numerous videogames tied to big screen blockbusters like Batman Begins and The Matrix. The first two seasons of Hall’s show featured a mix of informal celebrity interviews, stunts and videogame-themed discussions.

When it debuted in June 2008, Jace Hall snared a solid audience for Sony’s guy-oriented Crackle, drawing roughly half a million viewers in its first week. Season three of the Jace Hall Show is due to premiere on IGN on Jan. 29. While it will no longer be distributed on Crackle, the show, owned by HD Films, will once again be available to viewers on the Xbox Live platform following its initial run on IGN.

The move to acquire Jace Hall pushes IGN—best known for videogame trailers and reviews—further into original entertainment. In the past year, the News Corp.-owned site has upped its video output, including the launch of the series The Daily Fix.

According to comScore Video Metrix, the site reached 4.4 million unique video viewers in the U.S. this past November.
