The bot, named Hazel, allows users to access decorating tips related to specific rooms, browse trends based on style type and project and save galleries for easier access later on. Users can also sign up to receive daily tips and design inspiration.
Finally, the bot allows users to search for HGTV shows and browse related content, as well as access information about HGTV’s sweepstakes, such as the HGTV Dream Home giveaway.
In a press release, Liesel Kipp, senior vice president of product and design for Scripps Networks Interactive, said, “HGTV is the most trusted brand in home and lifestyle content, and we are always looking for ways to inspire consumers on every platform, wherever they are. This bot allows us to make the HGTV brand accessible to our social consumer and help guide them through their important and fun home improvement decisions.”
This isn’t Scripps Networks Interactive’s first Messenger bot: A Food Network bot was released in late 2016.
Kipp added, “We have taken so many great learnings from Food Network bot over the past year. As we continue to develop an audience on Messenger, we are well-positioned to create a unique experience for the HGTV fan.”
