Have You Binn Honored Recently?

binnaward.jpgPlayboy publisher Jason Binn, the brainchild of D.C.’s forthcoming Capitol File magazine, was honored last week as Ernst and Young’s Entrepreneur of The Year for the New York Metro Region.

Binn’s release trumpets that he “now joins the ranks of Jeff Bezos (Amazon.com), Howard Schultz (Starbucks), and Wayne Hunzinga (Blockbuster), previous recipients of the coveted award which celebrates the vision, leadership, and success of the entrepreneurial spirit.” Granted, they won the national award not the New York Metro one, but what’s a little hyperbole between friends?

Having won the regional award in the consumer & business services category, Binn now goes on to the November national awards in Palm Springs–one of the few tony addresses left in the country where he doesn’t publish a magazine. Binn’s Niche Media LLC publishes uber-rich glossies Gotham, Ocean Drive, Hamptons, and Aspen Peak, and is bringing File to D.C. this fall.

(D.C.’s regional award banquet will be Thursday.)
