Hanoi Zane? "Valley of the Wolves" has U.S. troops going to the dogs
The Hollywood Reporter today notes that “Turkey’s ‘Valley of the Wolves: Iraq,’ an action drama that depicts U.S. troops in Iraq committing multiple atrocities, is setting new box-office records in its homeland.”
What’s surprising to us is that U.S. actor Billy Zane is starring in the movie, which is unrelentingly and scathingly critical not only of U.S. policy, but of U.S. troops as well. Zane stars as “an evangelistic local U.S. commander, a Col. Kurtz-like figure intent on retaining control of the various Kurdish, Arab and Turkish populations at any price.”
