Hachette eBook Sales Up, Revenues Down in 2012
Hachette’s net revenue in 2012 decreased 3.4 percent as compared to 2011.
The company’s sales volume was up 1.2 percent up during the year, but consumers have been buying more digital books and eBook sales generate less revenue. The company also reported that they had 71 titles on the New York Times eBook bestseller list in 2012, six of which hit the No. 1 position.
Lagardère, Hachette’s parent reported revenues at approximately $9.6 billion in 2012, down 0.2 percent from 2011.
