Gemvara Celebrates the Royal Couple’s U.S. Arrival with ‘Royal Race’ on July 9th

The team that completes all of the clues and tasks the fastest and most accurate will be awarded the "Kate Earrings" as a prize. Additionally, Gemvara.com gift cards will be given out to all team members.

In honor of the royal couple’s first trip to the U.S. as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Boston-based customizable fine jewelry website Gemvara is hosting its first-ever mobile treasure hunt throughout downtown Boston. This sounds like a fun game!

The winner(s) of the hunt will receive a pair of Kate Middleton-inspired white gold and diamond drop earrings, a $5,000 prize. I wish I live in Boston.

The first 200 teams to sign up for the “Royal Race” will be able to participate in a walking (or running!), city-wide hunt led by mobile game company, The Go Game, that includes various clues, questions and required tasks centered around British and Boston history, as well as jewelry-related topics.

Teams solve as many “missions” as they can, as fast as possible. Every time a correct answer is sent via the team’s mobile phone, the phone downloads another mission for the team to solve. Every mission is an opportunity to earn points.

The team that completes all of the clues and tasks the fastest and most accurate will be awarded the “Kate Earrings” as a prize. Additionally, Gemvara.com gift cards will be given out to all team members.

Participants are encouraged to don royal-inspired outfits as they search the city to find the prize. The more creative, the better!

Participants should report to City Hall Plaza in downtown Boston to register on July 9th. Only the first 200 teams to arrive prior to 1:00 PM will be able to participate (teams can consist of 1-4 members). Each team will have a designated team leader, who must be age 18 or over and have a smart phone.

I would love to hear from the participants. How the game went? What was the amount of the gift cards?
