Foot Locker hopes sneaker fans, enthusiasts, and collectors hoof it to Sneakerpedia, the social platform that the retailer will officially launch Tuesday night in an event at Good Units in the Hudson Hotel in Manhattan.

Sneakerpedia will allow sneaker buffs worldwide to share product photos, detailed information (brand, color, stitching, release date), personal stories, knowledge, insight, and experiences, as well as to interact with each other.

When clicking on one of the sneakers on the Sneakerpedia wall, a map featuring the locations of collectors who own the shoe will appear on the right-hand side of the page.

Among celebrities set to appear at the launch event: rapper Bun B, DJ Clark Kent, Greg Street and Mayor from the Addicted to Fresh sneaker crew, Bobbito Garcia, Elliott Curtis, Jonathan Mannion, Marco Colombo, and Jay Smith.

Foot Locker corporate vice president of marketing Stacy Cunningham said:

By fueling this project, we are bridging the gap between continents and raising awareness of a shared passion for sneakers. This community of sneaker enthusiasts can now share their knowledge, interest, and expertise of the products that unite us.
