Oops! Facebook issued an apology for temporarily blocking its users from sharing any links from Snopes and generating an automatic warning saying, "The content you're trying to share includes a link that's been blocked for being spammy or unsafe."

Oops! Facebook issued an apology for temporarily blocking its users from sharing any links from Snopes and generating an automatic warning saying, “The content you’re trying to share includes a link that’s been blocked for being spammy or unsafe.”

ZDNet’s Friending Facebook blog initially reported the blocking of the Snopes.com domain, updating its post with this response from a Facebook spokesperson:

The page was blocked in error and access has been restored. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Snopes describes itself as “the definitive Internet reference source for urban legends, folklore, myths, rumors, and misinformation.”
