International support is not only valuable for users but also for developers who are building services on top of the Facebook Places application programming interface. Given that Foursquare has experienced a large amount of growth abroad, it’s not surprising to see Facebook increase their service internationally. In addition to helping out developers, who will benefit from the Facebook Places search API, Facebook will probably see a dramatic increase in the volume of check-ins given their massive international presence.
