Facebook iOS Users Are Joining the Background Colors for Status Updates Party

The social network introduced the feature for Android last December

The background colors for status updates that Facebook began rolling out for Android users last December appear to be making their way to iOS, as well.

Some iOS users (including yours truly) gained access to the feature this past weekend.

As with the Android version of the feature, all users can see the background colors on status updates, regardless of platform.

Facebook said in an email to Social Pro Daily that the process of rolling out the feature to iOS and desktop users is under way, with a percentage of iPhone users having access now and completion expected in the next two weeks.

When the social network introduced the feature for Android, a spokesperson said in an email to Social Pro Daily:

We’re rolling out a change to help people make their text posts more visual. Starting today, people can update the background color of their text-only posts on Android.
