Facebook Ads Get High Clickthrough Rates Between Christmas And New Year’s Eve

‘Tis the season to click through Facebook ads? According to data from Techlightenment from the holiday seasons of 2009 and 2010, ’tis indeed.
Techlightenment found that clickthrough rates for Facebook ads from Christmas through New Year’s Eve were up 35 percent from the average rate.
Citing data from an Experian Hitwise report showing that unique Facebook visits were up seven percent during the same period, as well as data from the Interactive Advertising Bureau saying that spending on U.S. online advertising rose 13 percent in the 2010 Christmas season compared with the prior year, Techlightenment concluded:

While our data do not account for behavior post-click, they go a long way to suggest that users are engaged with advertisers more than usual.

If Techlightenment is right, there’s more to the holiday season than Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
